Belden Hull Daniels co-founded SCF in 2007 and currently serves as the Secretary on the Board of Directors.

 

Mr. Daniels’ career has been dedicated to creating market-based solutions to the problems plaguing underserved communities and developing replicable models that can bring meaningful change. He founded his own company, Economic Innovation International, in 1970 and it is internationally recognized for building more than $150 billion of privately capitalized innovative institutions. The firm has provided development assistance in 39 states and 21 countries, and has built funds from Maine to San Diego, and Miami to Alaska in this country, and in such diverse overseas environments as Northern Ireland, Palestine, Poland and Puerto Rico. to accomplish public purposes in North America, Europe and Asia.

 

Mr. Daniels co-founded National New Markets Fund as a joint-venture partnership with Strategic Development Solutions. It is a five-time allocatee that has received $237 million in New Markets Tax Credits. It invests in the poorest communities across the country, with targeted interest in the deep south and Great Lakes region.

 

 

Activities

 

Mr. Daniels is an attorney and former international banker. He taught economic development and development finance for a decade at Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
